Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty is one of the few generational talents in the 2025 NFL Draft. He’s likely to crack the top-10, something that’s not easy for a running back to do these days, and should make an immediate impact next season.
He recently appeared on “Up & Adams” and sent a confident message to all 32 teams.

Ashton Jeanty Calls Himself Any Quarterback’s ‘Best Friend’
Jeanty is an explosive runner with excellent contact balance and vision. His overall size is average, but he offsets it with outstanding speed and burst, and his lower center of gravity makes him sturdy. He’s a physical runner who flashes a strong stiff arm, and it often takes multiple tacklers to bring him down.
His scheme versatility makes him that much more intriguing as a prospect. He can excel in power and gap schemes or a wide-zone-oriented offense. Jeanty displays outstanding vision as a zone runner and quickly diagnoses the crease while pressing horizontally. He runs with excellent patience and allows his blockers to set up, then displays rare acceleration to burst through the gap or hole.
Jeanty is coming off back-to-back outstanding seasons at Boise State. He finished 2023 with 1,347 yards and 14 rushing touchdowns, adding 43 receptions, 569 yards, and five scores through the air. His 2024 follow-up was legendary. Jeanty posted 2,601 yards on 374 carries (both led FBS) and had 29 rushing touchdowns.
His efforts led to a second-place finish in Heisman Trophy voting and All-American honors. Jeanty is an explosive, total package prospect who can immediately improve any offense. He had a simple yet confident message for the entire league in his recent appearance on “Up & Adams”

Adams asked if Jeanty had met with the New York Giants. He responded, “Yeah, they came to my Pro Day.” She asked what he thought. With a smile, he replied, “I’m rocking with them. I’m rocking with whoever make that pick.”
Adams then said, “If you are Russell Wilson, you are on the table pounding for you to come in there and be his best friend. Come on. How good of a best friend would you be for Russell Wilson?”
Jeanty answered, “I’d be a great best friend. I’m always the quarterback’s best friend, so whoever gets me, they’re gonna love me.”
A strong rushing attack is any quarterback’s best friend, but Jeanty would take that attack to the next level. The Giants hold the third overall pick and would certainly benefit from adding the Boise State product.
New York finished 3-14, thanks to consistently poor offensive play. Rookies Malik Nabers and Tyrone Tracy were the lone bright spots on the No. 31 offense, according to PFSN’s Offense+ metric. Tracy led the team with 839 yards and five rushing touchdowns.
Jeanty and Tracy could be a dynamic duo, but the Giants need more help than one generational ball carrier can provide. New York is predicted to select Colorado’s Travis Hunter at No. 3, with Jeanty going No. 6 to the Las Vegas Raiders in PFSN’s latest mock draft.
Jeanty will make an impact wherever he ends up, and quarterbacks around the league should be pounding the table for their team to pick him.
