Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown’s post-playing descent has continued after reportedly being arrested for attempted murder.
Allegedly, Brown shot at a man who he had fought with earlier at a celebrity boxing event in Miami. Brown was extradited from Dubai to New Jersey; another extradition would bring him from Essex County to Miami, according to Miami police.
As fans wonder about Brown’s future, his X account has remained active, fueling social media speculation.
Antonio Brown’s Potential Message to Fans
It’s worth noting that Brown may not run his X account. However, a post emerged on Nov. 7 with a famous movie clip that suggested that Brown isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
The video, from the 2013 blockbuster “The Wolf of Wall Street,” features Leonardo DiCaprio (as businessman Jordan Belfort) riling up a crowd of coworkers by saying, “I’m not f**king leaving.”
The post is captioned, “CTESPN… show goes on…”
Brown’s post-playing career has been defined by reported legal trouble and allegations of serious crimes. Many feel that he is experiencing symptoms of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) as a result of multiple concussions, causing him to act erratically.
CTE is diagnosed postmortem by examining an autopsy of the brain.
Brown, or at least whoever is running his social media, has leaned into this with the “CTESPN” bit, posting NSFW memes, political takes, and occasional advertisements.
“Handed over the keys to the socials and CTESPN to my team while I go through this fight for my innocence,” the account posted on Nov. 6. “Happy to showcase love & entertainment. All love & respect to everyone for the support. #FREEAB”
Ian Rapoport shared an update from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
“Antonio Brown appeared before Judge Barry and executed a waiver of extradition,” Public Information Officer Carmen Martin wrote. “ECPO is notifying the Dade Co Sheriff’s office Miami for custody arrangements. Brown will be transported back to the Essex County Jail to await pick up by Florida authorities.”

If Brown’s allegations result in a conviction, he could reportedly see a maximum 15-year prison sentence and a maximum fine of $10,000.

Brown’s accounts have remained active, replying to X users and posting a meme about the situations in the hours after his alleged arrest.
These reported legal troubles followed a 12-year NFL career that was headlined by his dominance in Pittsburgh. He totaled 837 catches for 11,207 yards and 74 touchdowns with the Steelers before brief stints with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where his behavior earned him public criticism.
