Anthony Richardson Battling Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Will Levis in QB1 Race

Even with the regular season far in the rearview mirror, it still feels as though Richardson doesn’t get enough credence as a legitimate first-round prospect in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Richardson’s tape is polarizing, and being as young and inexperienced as he is, he does have room to grow. But the NFL draft is all about projecting what players can become, and at the most important position, Richardson can become one of the league’s most dynamic players.

Ahead of the Combine, it was revealed that Richardson would indeed be taking part in testing and on-field drills. In the past, some top QBs have opted out of testing. Lamar Jackson notably did this in the 2018 NFL Draft cycle to quiet calls for a position change.

Richardson will be a QB in the NFL, and he’ll be a very talented one as well. How far he’ll rise ultimately depends on a lot of factors — among them, landing spot and developmental flexibility. But Richardson has a rocket arm, and at 6’4″, 230 pounds, he’s an elite athlete with potential 4.5 speed. He’ll get to show off all of that at the Combine.
