Julius Randle’s Wife Kendra Breaks Silence About Timberwolves Star’s Massive Payday With 2-Word Message

Julius Randle re-signs with the Timberwolves on a 3-year, $100M deal, solidifying his role after a breakout season and deep playoff run with Minnesota.

Just two days after signing a new deal with Naz Reid, the Minnesota Timberwolves have reportedly agreed to new terms with star big man Julius Randle. Like Reid, Randle chose to forgo his player option and avoid free agency by signing a fresh contract with the team.

They agreed to a $100 million deal, spread over three years, featuring a player option in the third year. When ESPN first reported the deal, Randle’s wife, Kendra, expressed her excitement for her husband’s milestone.

After making a deep playoff run last season, Randle and Minnesota wasted no time trying to make it back for the 2025-26 season with this deal. After news broke, his wife re-shared the official announcement on her Instagram Stories, which had earlier been posted by a family friend.

All happy and giddy with the blockbuster deal, Kendra captioned the post with a simple “Thank you”, followed by a white heart.

This is a significant move for both Randle and the Wolves as they head into the 2025-26 season. Recall that Randle came from New York in a deal that sent former Wolves star Karl-Anthony Towns to the Knicks. Randle initially had a tough time acclimating to Minnesota’s competitive spirit.

After a lot of hits and trials, tough surprises, and excruciating games, though, Randle was able to shine. In 2024-25, he ranked second on the team in scoring and rebounding, while leading in assists.

Although it took him a few months to adjust to his new role, Randle eventually averaged 18.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.7 assists.

He made a strong comeback in February after healing his groin injury and started to settle into his role as a true playmaking forward. Randle’s potency made it difficult for Minnesota’s opponents and helped open up the floor more for Anthony Edwards and the rest of the team.

With Randle’s offensive firepower, the Timberwolves won 17 of their last 21 regular-season games, helping them avoid the dreaded Play-in. They entered the playoffs as the sixth seed.

In the first two rounds of the postseason, Randle really found his groove. He ranked among the top performers, especially against experienced defenders in the Wolves’ series against the Lakers and Warriors. He put up strong averages with 23.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.9 assists on 51.0/34.5/89.0 shooting splits.

However, what led the entire Wolves fandom to believe in him even more was not his numbers. It was his impact. Randle locked down defensively and held his own against one of the league’s best defenders, Draymond Green.

Of course, while things turned out quite the opposite for Minnesota against the OKC Thunder, Randle still managed to do as much as he could. Even as the Wolves met their end against the eventual NBA champions, Randle showed his true worth.

Minnesota went 26-10 in the 36 games Randle played last season, including both the regular season and playoffs. That strong performance is likely a major reason the team agreed to the $100 million deal. The Timberwolves clearly see Randle as a crucial part of their core and one of the fan favorites moving forward.
