Oklahoma City’s talisman, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, secured his place in NBA history on June 22, 2025, with a Finals-clinching performance that earned him the Finals MVP. In Game 7 at Paycom Center, SGA exploded for 29 points and handed out 12 assists, propelling the Thunder to a 103–91 victory over the Indiana Pacers.
As confetti fluttered around the court, SGA’s wife, Hailey Summers, captured the moment that made its way to her Instagram account.

Hailey Captures Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s MVP & Championship Glory Alongside Son
In her celebratory Instagram carousel, Hailey shared that signature image among several others. Gilgeous-Alexander is carrying his one-year-old son, Ares, in his arms while he holds the Larry O’Brien trophy in the other hand. Ares could be seen reaching out to touch the gleaming gold. Hailey captioned her post with a single word: “Chaammppssss.”
In the second photo from the carousel, Hailey joined her husband and son as the family of three posed for the camera holding the NBA championship trophies. In the third one, the picture solely focused on the one-year-old Ares standing amidst the trophies, while the last image was of the Larry O’Brien trophy and the exclusive one-of-a-kind pair of SHAI 001 “TROPHY GOLD” Converse.

After being crowned as the Finals MVP, SGA hailed Jalen Williams as a “once-in-a-lifetime player” in his speech. “Jalen Williams is a once-in-a-lifetime player,” SGA said. “Without him, without his performances, without his big-time moments, big-time shot-making, big-time defending, everything he brings to this team, we don’t win this championship.”
The Thunder star shared his solo glory with the 24-year-old forward, highlighting their strong bond. “This is just my MVP as it is his. We’ll share this one for a very long time. Like you said, we’re etching the book forever. And Dub’s a winner, for sure.”
SGA’s Heroics And Tyrese Haliburton’s Injury Sealed Game 7 Verdict
The championship finale was not without drama. Indiana lost two-time All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton to an Achilles tendon injury in the first quarter. Haliburton made three-pointers before collapsing on the ground, screaming in pain. Gilgeous-Alexander rushed to check up on his opponent, reminding fans that sportsmanship matters more than scores.
Haliburton’s injury shook the Pacers’ confidence, but it did not deter them from battling back to lead the game 48-47 by halftime. Oklahoma City responded in kind and closed the third quarter 34-20.

Meanwhile, during Game 7, Williams delivered 20 points of his own, while Chet Holmgren posted 18 points and eight rebounds that stifled Indiana’s frontcourt. Alex Caruso (now a two-time NBA champion) and Cason Wallace added 10 points each off the bench, while Luguentz Dort poured in nine points.
For a franchise whose lone prior title came in 1979 as the Seattle SuperSonics, this championship represents a transformative chapter. Moreover, Oklahoma City amassed 84 wins between the regular season and playoffs. They tied with the 1996–97 Chicago Bulls for the third-most victories in a single NBA campaign.
Meanwhile, Hailey’s Instagram gallery will stand as a visual time capsule, reminding fans of the Oklahoma City Thunder’s historic win.
