Liam McNeeley is a likely first-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and arguably one of the best shooters in this class. However, the spotlight has shifted to his dating history ahead of the big day for the UConn star, and he’s already in a long-term relationship. So, let’s get to know his girlfriend in detail.
Meet Liam McNeeley’s Girlfriend, Ryann Gleason
McNeeley has been dating Gleason, an Indiana University student, for at least a year. While the exact details of how and when the two met aren’t known publicly, Gleason’s Instagram account suggests she has been in a relationship with McNeeley since at least April 2024.

McNeeley was initially set to follow Gleason to the Hoosiers before de-committing and committing to the Huskies. He was also heavily recruited by the Texas Longhorns, where his sister Ava studied, but he eventually found his calling at UConn.
According to Gleason’s LinkedIn profile, she’s pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary special education with a concentration in child mental health at Indiana University. She started college in 2024, like McNeely, who was a freshman in Storrs, Conn., during the 2024-25 season.
Gleason is also a hustler. From 2022 to 2024, she worked as a part-time teacher, and she currently works as a part-time spa technician.
Amid all the updates, Gleason has been a constant source of support for McNeeley and regularly attends his games. According to CT Insider, she was also present at his homecoming game in Austin, Texas, last December with his mother, Ashley Elsey McNeeley, and his sister.
McNeeley’s 2025 NBA Draft Projection
McNeeley averaged 14.5 points per game and shot 31.7% from 3 on 5.4 attempts per game last season at UConn. While the percentage isn’t exceptional, he’s a much better shooter than his percentage indicates, as he was asked to step into a starting role.
In high school, he shot 43.9% from 3-point range and was known as one of the best shooters in the nation. At the 2025 NBA Draft Combine, he drilled 24 of 30 shots from long range, and he’ll find plenty of teams ready to bet on his shooting potential.
In PFSN’s latest NBA Mock Draft by Cam Mellor, McNeeley was projected to be selected 17th overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
“The big wing out of UConn heads to the Minnesota Timberwolves to help position this team for perhaps an extended playoff run in the near future,” Mellor wrote. “McNeeley’s one of those unselfish, high-skill scorers who can move the ball just as well as he can shoot it.
“His shooting in Storrs was lights out, but don’t be surprised if it gets even sharper in the Wolves’ system. He’s also flashed legit passing chops and a steady hand as a creator when needed.
“On the defensive end, he’s proven time and time again that he can hold his own. But let’s not get it twisted, his real calling card is that jumper, which hit new heights last season. He’s a playmaker on and off the ball and should slide in as someone Minnesota can count on to stay within himself and play to his strengths.”
