Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future with the Milwaukee Bucks continues to generate headlines as the 2024-25 NBA season inches to a close. While the “Greek Freak” is yet to take any action on where he wants to play next season, the rumor mills are busy churning as speculations about his landing spots continue to take the spotlight.
Earlier, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers addressed the rumors and made it clear that Antetokounmpo remains loyal to the franchise that drafted him. The latest on the matter sees the Eastern Conference outfit reportedly trying to bolster the side by adding the right pieces around the two-time NBA MVP.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Is Set To Get Some Solid Support Next Season
In ESPN’s latest, a string of league insiders shared their thoughts and intel about Antetokounmpo’s options. Bobby Marks believed the franchise could take the option of putting the forward on the trade market. He added that the team instead has no intentions of letting go of their mainstay.
“It would be easy for the Bucks to put Antetokounmpo on the trade market, especially in light of Lillard’s Achilles injury and consecutive losses in the first round,” Marks said. “However, sources confirmed to ESPN that Milwaukee will be aggressively exploring options in free agency and trades to complement Antetokounmpo.”

The 30-year-old is contracted to stay with the Bucks through the 2026-27 NBA season and has a player option for the following season. Recent reports from Shams Charania say that he is closely looking at Milwaukee’s moves after the team’s disappointing three first-round exits in a row. That said, Antetokounmpo has made it clear in the past that he plans on winning with the Bucks.
Adding to the tough exit this season is the loss of Damian Lillard to injury. The Bucks are also hamstrung with cap flexibility and will need to make major decisions on key personnel in Gary Trent Jr., Brook Lopez, and Bobby Portis.
On the season front, it was yet another solid season for Antetokounmpo as he ended his campaign averaging 30.4 points on 60.1% shooting from the field, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists. Adding new talent will also see what changes the Bucks ring in as they look towards their marquee star to shoulder the offense next season.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has spent all of his 12 seasons in the NBA with the Bucks. He led them to their first championship in 50 years 2021, but the team has struggled to advance beyond the first round of the playoffs in each of the past three seasons despite remaining competitive throughout the regular season.
