Emma Raducanu vs Rebecca Šramková Preview

Emma Raducanu will take on Rebecca Šramková in the second round of the Queen’s Club Championships. Whoever wins the match, will take on either top seed Zheng Qinwen or McCartney Kessler in the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Emma Raducanu has produced a few promising performances over the past few years, that includes reaching the fourth round of big tournaments. The Brit reached the Round of 16 of the Italian Open before losing in the second round of the Internationaux de Strasbourg. She then competed at the French Open and beat Wang Xinyu 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 before suffering a 1-6, 2-6 defeat to Iga Swiatek in the second round.

Raducanu received a wildcard to the main draw of the Queen’s Club Championships and beat Cristina Bucsa 6-1, 6-2 to book her place in the second round of the WTA 500 event.

Apart from the Merida Open and the Abu Dhabi Open, Rebecca Šramková has not won more than two matches in any of the tournaments she has competed in so far in 2025. The Slovak ended her clay-court season with an opening-round exit at the French Open after losing 3-6, 3-6 to Iga Swiatek.

Šramková faced seventh seed Barbora Krejcikova in the first round of the Queen’s Club Championships and beat the Czech 6-4, 6-3 to book her place in the second round of the WTA 500 competition.

Emma Raducanu vs Rebecca Šramková Prediction

Raducanu can be a pretty formidable opponent on her day and she will also have the crowd’s support. Hence, she will enter the match as  the favorite to win.

The Brit won 24 out of 32 points on her first serve during her previous match and served two aces. Raducanu is a pretty powerful hitter and and has a solid backhand. The 2021 US Open has a decent serve which is not easy to return but her return game is pretty effective.

Rebecca Šramková won 25 out of 32 points on her first serve during her win over Krejcikova and served an ace. However, she produced four double faults and cannot to have too many of those against Raducanu. While the Brit can have her lapses, Šramková will have to bring on her A game if she is to stand a chance of winning.

If Raducanu is at her best, there is a very good chance of her bagging the win and booking her place in the quarterfinals of the Queen’s Club Championships.

Prediction: Raducanu to win in straight sets.
