Their father, Claude Nembhard, a former player himself, is the CEO of the Ontario Basketball Association. Their mother, Mary, was the grounding voice of calm amid the chaos of raising two elite athletes.
Though basketball was never pushed on them, the brothers naturally gravitated to the game. Driveway shootarounds, basement drills, and gym sessions were the norm. Ryan often looked up to Andrew, watching closely and following his lead.

While Andrew now plays a critical role for a rising Pacers team, Ryan is carving out his own path toward the NBA.

After earning Big East Freshman of the Year honors at Creighton in 2022, Ryan transferred to Gonzaga University. He flourished there, setting a single-season program record with 344 assists during the 2024–25 season. That mark also placed him fifth all-time in NCAA history for assists in a single season.

Now, Ryan is hoping to land on an NBA roster. If not immediately, the G League path could be his next step.
