LeBron James Gets Excited at Bryce James’ Graduation Ceremony

Bryce transferred to Campbell Hall in May 2023, then to Notre Dame in August. However, he returned to Sierra Canyon in November after being ruled ineligible for the season.

He averaged eight points and 4.2 rebounds in his final high school basketball season. He finished his career on a high note, clinching the CIF State Division I title as Sierra Canyon defeated Lincoln High in the finals. He posted three points, two assists, and five rebounds in the 58–53 win as his parents and sister, Zhuri, watched from the stands.

LeBron was present at Bryce’s graduation and made a celebratory noise to hype up his son when the shooting guard’s name was called.

“AYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA,” James shouted, causing Bryce to smile and shake his head.

Footage of the moment has racked up tens of thousands of views on X.

The four-time NBA champion hasn’t yet announced his future plans in the NBA. He has until June 29 to decide whether to opt in to his $52.6 million player option. Multiple reports suggest he plans to play through 2026, when Bryce becomes draft-eligible. He may opt out and sign a two-year deal instead to gain flexibility with a player option in 2026.

LeBron’s older son, Bronny James, was selected by the Lakers in the 2024 NBA Draft. LeBron and Bronny became the first father-son duo to play in an NBA game together. It remains to be seen whether the NBA legend will stick around long enough to share the court with Bryce as well.

LeBron led the Lakers to a 50–32 season and the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. He averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.8 rebounds, while shooting 51.3% from the field and 37.6% from 3-point range in 70 games. The Lakers lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the playoffs.

Despite the early exit, LeBron broke several records. He surpassed Michael Jordan to become the oldest player to receive MVP votes, finishing sixth in the 2025 race behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokić, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, and Donovan Mitchell, with 14 votes (one fourth-place and 13 fifth-place votes).

LeBron also earned his 21st consecutive All-NBA selection, landing on the All-NBA Second Team for the fourth time. He previously made the All-NBA First Team 13 times and the Third Team four times.
