‘People Hate Him’ — Cooper Flagg Reveals Shocking Pick for NBA’s Most Underrated Player

With Game 5 of the Pacers vs. Cavaliers series approaching, projected No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft Cooper Flagg names his choice for the most underrated NBA player.

The Indiana Pacers are rolling. They are one game away from the Eastern Conference Finals and upsetting the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavaliers, the top seed in the Eastern Conference all season, are now on the brink of elimination. The Pacers are shocking the world, and one man is at the helm of this all: Tyrese Haliburton.

Haliburton, who had an up-and-down regular season, has been at the peak of his powers during the playoffs. He’s been able to lead the charge for the Pacers to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. The projected No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Cooper Flagg, spoke about Haliburton on Tuesday.

Cooper Flagg Praises Tyrese Haliburton As Most Underrated Player

Flagg recently praised Haliburton, and pointed out that while some people are not fans of Haliburton, he finds the Pacers guard to be, truly one of the best players in the game and underrated for that reason.

“I would say Tyrese Haliburton, because people hate him and call him overrated all the time, and say he’s not that good, but he’s just such a good basketball player,” Flagg said when asked about who the most underrated player in the league is. A recent anonymous poll saw NBA players vote the Pacers’ star as the most overrated player in the league.

Haliburton is currently averaging 16.0 points, 9.4 assists, and 5.4 rebounds in the playoffs. While his numbers aren’t eye-catching, he has shown up when it matters most. His clutch three to win the game for the Pacers in Game 2 solidified their momentum and gave them the upper hand in the series.

Can the Cavaliers Come Back From Being Down 3-1

While Haliburton has been solid in this series, he still lacks that one performance that showcases his dominance. Perhaps over the course of these last few games, he will close out the Cavaliers in a major way. If Haliburton can put a stamp on this series with a big game, it will raise the Pacers’ confidence going into a potential Eastern Conference finals series.

The Cavaliers are not out of the fight yet, though, and they could very well extend the series if they win Game 5. However, it remains to be seen if they have enough in the tank. Cleveland looked despondent and out of it during Game 4, and their fans will hope they come out with some energy in Game 5.

Will the Cavaliers mount a monumental comeback? Or will the man that Flagg labeled as the most underrated player be able to help lead his team back to the conference finals? Time will tell.
