Golden State Warriors fans are devastated after reports confirming Stephen Curry’s injury status went viral. After finishing the season as the seventh seed, the Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Although the Warriors managed to catch the Timberwolves off guard by stealing Game 1 on the road, Curry ended up sustaining yet another injury, drawing greater attention to his health heading into Game 2. Since some might not have known what happened to the Warriors star, a closer look at his injury reports is important.

Stephen Curry Is Expected To Miss Game 2 of the Warriors vs. Timberwolves Series
Curry had already been playing through a thumb injury heading into Round 1. After making a shot with just under nine minutes left in the second quarter, Curry was spotted grabbing his hamstring and appeared to be in pain.
Despite not having their franchise cornerstone on the court, the Warriors were able to hold off Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves to take a 1-0 series lead. Since Curry did not return to the court after sustaining his hamstring injury, Warriors fans were concerned and eagerly awaited updates on the subject.
Senior NBA Insider Shams Charania tweeted that Curry has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain and is not expected to be on the court with his team for Game 2. Charania also mentioned that this was Curry’s first strained muscle injury, making it very difficult to establish an accurate return window.
Golden State’s Stephen Curry has sustained a Grade 1 left hamstring strain and will be ruled out for Game 2 against Minnesota on Thursday, sources tell ESPN. Since Curry is dealing with a Grade 1 strain as opposed to a more serious Grade 3, it might just be possible for him to make a return to his team for Game 3 of this series. Although Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, and the rest of the Warriors have already proven that they can put up a fight without Curry, there is no denying that they need him on the court to get past the Timberwolves.
The Warriors veteran had already shrugged off his thumb injury and indicated that he was going to play through it in Game 1. While he might be desperate to do the same with regard to his hamstring injury, things will clearly not be that simple.
The only good news is that the Warriors have created a small window for themselves by winning Game 1. Even if they lose Game 2, they still have a chance to regain control of this series. However, having Curry at full strength is non-negotiable for the team if they wish to make it to the next round.
