Cameron Brink’s Brother Sums Up Stephen Curry’s Warriors’ Matchup with Timberwolves In 6 Words

The Golden State Warriors are thriving in the NBA Playoffs.

GSW beat the Houston Rockets in Game 7 on the road, booking a trip to the Western Conference Semifinals. While the Dubs are riding high, a tough opponent awaits – Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Cameron Brink’s Brother, Cy, Previews Warriors-T’Wolves Series

Cy Brink took to Instagram to share his thoughts on the Warriors’ matchup with the Timberwolves.

He posted a picture of Steph Curry and the Warriors’ Game 7 win over the Rockets with the caption: “Twolves matchup will feed families (mine).”

While Brink implied this series will be one for the ages, he ultimately has the Warriors advancing.

The Wolves advanced to the semis by ousting the Lakers in five games, while it took seven for the Warriors to eliminate the Rockets.

GSW and MIN will face off in Game 1 on May 6 in Minnesota to tip off the series.

If this one is anything like their past encounters, expect a battle, a few flagrant and technicals, and possibly a chokehold.

Exploring The Brinks and The Currys’ Relationship

While Cameron Brink has only been in the WNBA a year, she has already made a mark in the league. The Stanford University standout was drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2024 WNBA Draft with the second overall selection.

Stephen Curry, on the other hand, has been a household name since he was selected by the Golden State Warriors with the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. But, how far back do the two go?

Curry’s parents, Dell and Sonya, are Brinks’ godparents, and Brinks’ parents, Greg and Michelle Bain-Brink, are godparents to the Warriors superstar and his siblings.

The families have a long history of close friendship, dating back to when Dell Curry and Greg Brink played basketball together at Virginia Tech, and Sonya and Michelle were roommates.

“It’s pretty awesome to watch [Cameron Brink] grow up in the game,” Steph said in 2021. “I just love watching her play, love everything about her. She’ll be playing for a very long time.”

Both Cameron Brink and Stephen Curry are in the thick of their respective professions as Brink and the Sparks look to start the 2025 WNBA season on the right track, while Curry and the Warriors gear up for Game 1 vs. the Timberwolves.
