The Indiana Pacers sparked wild celebrations amongst fans after Tyrese Haliburton knocked the Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co. out of the playoffs. But at the end of all the celebrations, one moment left a bitter taste for NBA fans. Haliburton’s father, John Haliburton, came onto the court with a flag of his son’s face and mocked the Milwaukee Bucks forward after the game.
As the emotions ran wild, John and Antetokounmpo got in a headlock after the game, and the staff separated the two individuals. The two exchanged words before they were separated, and it looked intense. Therefore, John came out and apologized to Antetokounmpo through a post on X.

Tyrese Haliburton’s Father Steps Back in the Giannis Antetokounmpo Incident
He said, “I sincerely apologize to Giannis, the Milwaukee Bucks, and the Pacers organization for my actions following tonight’s game. This was not a good reflection on our sport, or my son and I will not make that mistake again.”
Usually, the players embrace each other after a game, as it’s customary on a basketball court. This incident indeed questions the sportsmanship in the game today, with the winners bantering the losers on the court.
Meanwhile, the ‘Greek Freak’ expressed his thoughts during the post-game press conference regarding Haliburton’s father’s unsportsmanlike behavior.
The player couldn’t believe what happened and wanted more respect from individuals. Antetokounmpo mentioned, “Losing a game, emotions run high. I thought it was a fan. It was his dad. I love Tyrese. I think he’s a great competitor. His dad coming on the floor & showing me his son’s towel with his face. ‘This is what we do. This is what the f*** we do.’ That’s very, very disrespectful.”

The Bucks icon also details how his father respected everyone and talks about his childhood when he was taught how to become a good Samaritan.
Antetokounmpo Involved in a Scuffle With Indiana Pacers’ Bennedict Mathurin
Antetokounmpo said, “Having somebody’s dad — & I’m happy for his son & him — disrespecting me & cursing at me is totally unacceptable. I’m not the guy that points fingers, because snitches get stitches and I don’t want him to get fined. I talked with him at the end & I think we’re in a good place.”
Apart from this incident, Antetokounmpo crossed paths with another Pacers player, Bennedict Mathurin. At first, the cameras caught him holding the back of Mathurin’s head, appearing to advise the player.
Soon after, Mathurin shoved Antetokounmpo, and the players and staff divided the two players.
With Antetokounmpo still searching for his second NBA title, it could be the last game he plays for the Bucks franchise. The player looks frustrated at the team’s progress, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he leaves the Bucks.
