WATCH: LeBron James Reacts to Costly Foul on Anthony Edwards in Dying Seconds of Lakers vs. Timberwolves

Footage of LeBron James reacting to NBA officials calling a foul on him for swiping at Anthony Edwards in Game 4 of Lakers vs. Timberwolves.

A video of LeBron James reacting to a foul call against him in Game 4 of the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves has gone viral on social media. After finishing the season as the third seed and matching up against Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves for the first round of the playoffs, the Lakers have unexpectedly fallen into a 3-1 deficit and look to be rapidly approaching the end of their season.

Perhaps the series might have been tied at 2-2 if things had gone slightly differently. In fact, the final seconds of Game 4 caused quite a lot of confusion among players and fans alike. Now that a video revealing James’ reaction is doing the rounds, let’s take a closer look at how he reacted to one of the most critical points of the game.

Did LeBron James Know He Fouled Anthony Edwards?

Game 4 between the Lakers and Timberwolves went down to the very end, and any team could have won this important game. With less than 15 seconds left in the game, the Timberwolves were up 114-113 and had three seconds to get a final shot.

Edwards found the ball in his hands and attempted to drive into the lane. James intercepted and swiped at Edwards, ensuring the Timberwolves star sent the ball out of bounds. If things had continued this way, the Lakers would have more than enough time to get a final shot and potentially win the game.

However, Edwards instantly claimed that James fouled him and demanded a review. After the officials viewed the footage, they announced that James had changed the out-of-bounds play to a foul. Therefore, the Timberwolves star was given free throws.

Upon hearing the officials announce the decision on a microphone, James instantly looked away and gazed distantly into the crowd. Upon watching footage of his reaction, some even concluded that he behaved that way since he knew he had fouled Edwards.

While Lakers fans certainly wish things had gone differently, the Timberwolves might have still won this game since they already had the lead and merely needed to prevent the Lakers from making a game-winning buzzer-beater on the road.

Although it is just the first round of the playoffs, the officials on the court should be feeling a fair bit of pressure. Almost every game in the playoffs appears to have a controversial ending where many feel the outcome should have been different. In any case, fans are left wondering if James and the Lakers have what it takes to dig their way out of a 3-1 deficit and win this series against the Timberwolves.
