IShowSpeed Pauses World Cup Duties to Link Up With LeBron James at Fanatics Fest

IShowSpeed is supposed to be helping with the World Cup, but he took some time away from his duties to show up for LeBron James.

Famous influencer IShowSpeed is known for having many talents. He can often be seen attending or helping with the biggest events, especially those relating to sports.

Lately, he’s been spending time helping serve as an ambassador for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Yet, when LeBron James comes calling, Speed shows up.

IShowSpeed Steps Away from World Cup for James

Everyone involved in the sports world is tuned into what the NBA’s all-time scoring leader will do next. He’s already played for three different NBA teams; will James stretch that number to four later this year? It’s certainly possible.

While IShowSpeed has been actively involved in the World Cup, even streaming himself as he spectates the action, he stepped away for a day to meet up with James at the Fanatics Fest in New York recently.

The basketball icon also took time out of his day to autograph what appears to be a jersey of James from his days with the Cleveland Cavaliers while tennis icon Novak Djokovic served as witness.

Now that he’s gotten James’ signature, IShowSpeed is expected to return to streaming duties on Saturday and Sunday. He’ll also be performing his recently released song, “World Cup (Champions)” during the World Cup closing ceremony on Sunday, before Argentina and Spain face off in the final.

Meanwhile, the world continues to wait on a free agency decision from James. A determination is expected to arrive soon, possibly even as soon as next week.

James is believed to have narrowed down his decision to five finalists. They are expected to be the Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Philadelphia 76ers.

Each team has made its recruiting pitches; now it’s just up to James and his agent, Rich Paul, to sign the contract. The 41-year-old James has already won four NBA Finals trophies; now he’s undoubtedly eyeing a fifth with any team he joins next.

Of the above, the Heat and Warriors failed to make the playoffs last year. Yet, the Heat have since traded for Giannis Antetokounmpo to strengthen their roster.

Some believe the Warriors will have to bring in a star to catch up to the rest of the pack. Whether James’ camp feels the same remains to be seen, but they do have the benefit of being the only team on his list in California, which his family has made their home.

Ultimately, the James family understandably has a lot on their minds as he enters what’s expected to be the final chapter of a historic career.
