‘His Next Move Has To Be His Best Move’ — Ex-NFL Star Pitches Rich Paul on LeBron James’ Ideal Free-Agency Destination

LeBron James receives a strong endorsement for a specific destination as a former NFL star weighs in on free agency.

Early this month, LeBron James’ agent, Rich Paul, showed on the “Game Over” podcast 10 teams that could land the former Los Angeles Lakers superstar. With James reportedly making a decision in the coming days, speculations about where he could play next have only intensified.

When Paul appeared on Sunday’s “Nightcap” podcast, he received a direct urging from one of the show’s co-hosts to bring James to an ideal free agency destination.

The Klutch Sports founder has been noncommittal whenever asked about James’ future. Paul only kept reiterating that the 22-time All-Star will inform him once he has made a decision.

Former NFL star Chad Johnson, one of the co-hosts, wasted little time making his case about where James should go next.

“His next move has to be his best move. … Listen, Golden State, it looks good on paper. Does he (James) wanna play with Steph (Curry)? Yes, he’s always loved to play with Steph, but at this point in his career, do you wanna go to the West and deal with them juggernauts? … So what’s the best fit for him? … Down here, in the 305, in the County, where he already been. Why not bring another trip down here?” Johnson said.

According to the former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver, the Philadelphia 76ers aren’t a good fit for James. He said that Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and the newly acquired Jaylen Brown all want the ball.

For Johnson, James shouldn’t consider the Cleveland Cavaliers for basketball reasons.

The six-time Pro Bowler added that in Miami, Bam Adebayo and Giannis Antetokounmpo would do the dirty work for James. Johnson continued that the two star big men would wear “construction hats” to accommodate the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.

The “Nightcap” co-host joined the growing number of NBA observers who want James to take his talents again to South Beach.

On Sunday, one of James’ friends, Cuffs The Legend, advised the 21-time All-NBA not to “overthink” and just return to a place where he could still compete for a championship.

Despite Johnson’s passionate plea, Paul remained unperturbed, calmly telling him that James is still weighing his options. According to Paul, money isn’t an issue for a player with nearly $600 million in career earnings.

Paul insisted that deciding on James’ upcoming 24th season is different from making a decision earlier in his career. The wait will reportedly not drag on for long, as James could announce his decision in the upcoming week.
