The Miami Heat made the splash of the year by getting Giannis Antetokounmpo. However, even they know that it can’t start and stop there. They need more help around him. As to where they would find it, it may potentially be someone who has worn a Heat uniform before.
LeBron James Floated as Heat Target After Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade
FS1’s Colin Cowherd made his case for why James would rejoin the Heat after they added Antetokounmpo.
“He likes the warm weather, he’s a golfer now. You can golf year-round in Miami,” Cowherd said. Miami is on fire. It’s a fun city, he’s been there (with) Savannah and Bronny, the kids. It works… Miami with Giannis, Bam, and Portis, what do they need? Shot creation.”
Cowherd finished by adding that James fits what the Heat need, especially knowing who else he would be teamed up with.
“Scoring, facilitating, that’s what Miami is going to be struggling with… Spo, Riley, LeBron, Giannis, Bam, Portis, Wiggins, Bronny, that’s a squad in the East.”
Colin Cowherd says LeBron James is EXACTLY what the Heat need:

When the Heat assembled James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh together back in 2010, they knew they needed to assemble the rest of the rotation to make some real noise. That started with adding Mike Miller, and over time they added more veteran players to the roster, such as Shane Battier, Ray Allen, and Rashard Lewis, among others.
Now that they have Antetokounmpo on the team, they have a similar task, and James is probably the best fit for their needs with what he can still do, even if he’s not the same player that joined them 16 years ago.
He has experience playing under Erik Spoelstra and has adjusted well, even in the face of Father Time. Miami wouldn’t count on him as much as they did, but he would be a solid secondary creator next to Antetokounmpo even if he’s not exactly the NBA’s best floor spacer.
It also wouldn’t end there for the Heat, as they would have to add more surrounding pieces, but if they manage to orchestrate a reunion with James, players have shown over the years how much they would like to play with him and Antetokounmpo over the years, even on a discount, because they wanted a chance at a title.
There were some hard feelings when James departed South Beach in 2014, but perhaps enough time has passed that a reunion might just be what both sides need.
