The Detroit Pistons reportedly have no plans to let their All-Star center Jalen Duren leave amid rumors linking them with Jaylen Brown.

The Detroit Pistons are gearing up for a busy summer after finishing as the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference last season.

Amid speculation linking the Pistons to a trade for Jaylen Brown, NBA insider Chris Haynes has revealed the latest on the future of a Detroit star currently under contract for four years and $19,474,944.

NBA Insider Reveals Detroit Pistons’ Plans for All-Star

After a breakout year in 2025/26, Jalen Duren is facing an uncertain future with talks over a new contract with the Pistons reportedly stalling. However, Haynes has claimed that the Pistons do not plan to move the restricted free agent and remain focused on reaching an agreement on a new contract.

“Detroit Pistons are conveying that Jalen Duren will not be moved and are solely focused on coming to terms on an agreement to keep their All-Star center, league sources tell me,” Haynes wrote on X.

Duren was a key player for the Pistons last season as they surpassed all expectations and made an impressive run in the Eastern Conference.

The 6-foot-10 center earned his first All-Star nod and was also named in the All-NBA Third Team after averaging 19.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. However, his numbers declined sharply during the playoffs, as he averaged just 10.2 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.

The Athletic reported on Friday morning that talks over an extension between the player and the franchise had stalled. Duren was reportedly left unimpressed by the Pistons’ initial offer and is planning to explore sign-and-trade scenarios once free agency begins.

Duren is eligible for a maximum five-year, $287.1 million extension with the Pistons, a big pay rise on his current four-year, $19,474,944 contract. However, it appears that the two parties are not yet on the same page amid ongoing negotiations.

Haynes’ comments will offer hope to Pistons fans, who will hope to see Duren back in Detroit next season.

The Pistons have several big decisions to make this offseason, with the futures of Duncan Robinson and Tobias Harris also uncertain. Detroit traded Isaiah Stewart to the Memphis Grizzlies to create cap space, with reports suggesting they could make a move for one of the big names on the market.

Jaylen Brown, Kawhi Leonard, Tyler Herro, and Norman Powell are some of the names who have been linked with the Pistons this week. If an agreement cannot be reached with Duren, Detroit might be tempted to use his contact to facilitate a move for one of those players.
