‘LeBron James Is Not Walking Through That Door’ – NBA Analyst Warns Spurs That NBA Finals vs. Knicks Are Over

An NBA analyst believes the Spurs have no chance of following in LeBron James' footsteps by coming back from 3-1 down against the Knicks.

The San Antonio Spurs suffered one of the most dramatic losses in NBA Finals history in Game 4 on Wednesday, blowing a 29-point lead in the second half and losing 107-106 to the New York Knicks.

One NBA analyst feels that Game 4 all but ended the NBA Finals as a contest, and the Spurs have no chance of pulling off a comeback.

NBA Analyst Claims Spurs Have No Chance of Overturning 3-1 Deficit vs. Knicks

Only one team in history has come from 3-1 down to win the NBA Finals. LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers achieved that feat in the 2016 Finals against the Golden State Warriors. But Fox Sports’ Nick Wright does not think that Victor Wembanyama and Co. can pull off something similar.

The NBA Finals ended with OG Anunoby’s dramatic tip-in winner with 1.2 seconds left in Game 4.

“The Spurs lost the championship Wednesday night. LeBron James is not walking through that door. They are not coming back from down 3-1. They are to me about as dead as a team that was down 3-0,” Wright said on the latest episode of the “What’s Wright? with Nick Wright” podcast.

Wright lamented the Spurs’ failure to capitalize on their advantage across the opening four games against the Knicks. He noted that the Knicks have come back from double-digit deficits in every game of the NBA Finals.

“Part of that is because I do not think they are better than the Knicks. I know they aren’t more clutch or better at executing down the stretch than the Knicks. And there is no lead the Spurs can get out to where the Knicks will be nervous or the Spurs will be comfortable. It is remarkable that the Spurs have had a double-digit lead in every game this series,” he added.

With the NBA Finals returning to San Antonio on Saturday, the Spurs will hope to make the most of home advantage and extend the series to at least Game 6. They came from 3-2 down to defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals, and can take inspiration from that comeback in their bid to win a sixth NBA title.

However, winning three games in a row on the NBA Finals stage would require them to make big improvements across all departments and put an end to their practice of blowing leads.
