‘She’s Not a Knicks Fan, Get Out of Here’ — Knicks Announcer Calls Out Taylor Swift Without Realizing She’s On Air

Knicks radio announcers caught the ire of Taylor Swift fans online for criticizing Taylor Swift for attending the NBA Finals despite not being a fan.

New York Knicks radio announcers made an on-air gaffe, calling out Taylor Swift for attending Game 4 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden while not realizing that they were on air.

New York Knicks Broadcaster Calls Out Taylor Swift During Game 4 of the NBA Finals

During the radio broadcast of Game 4 of the NBA Finals, play-by-play announcer Tyler Murray did not believe his producers when they told him Swift was sitting courtside.

Analyst and Georgetown Hoyas alum Monica McNutt spotted Swift and then made a comment that caught the ire of fans online, as she criticized the pop singer for attending the NBA Finals.

It appears that McNutt and Murray did not know they were on the air when the comments were made. “Is that Taylor Swift down there?” McNutt said on the broadcast.

After pointing out Swift to Murray, McNutt called her out for attending the NBA Finals even though she wasn’t a Knicks fan. “She’s not a Knicks fan, get out of here girl,” she added.

Contrary to McNutt’s comment, Swift has long been a Knicks fan and told Time Magazine in 2014 that she supported them even though they were going through a rough spell.

“I love them, though. Why does that matter? I’ve always had this sort of love of the Knicks, just because Amar’e Stoudemire is so cool. And also, I performed at the Knicks’ Kids Talent Competition at halftime when I was 12 or 13.”

“And ever since then, I’ve had this kind of sparkly, magical opinion of Madison Square Garden and the Knicks, since they let me sing when I was a little kid,” she said.

Swift has attended numerous games at Madison Square Garden over the years. She appeared courtside twice in 2014, and also attended the Eastern Conference Finals between the Knicks and the Cleveland Cavaliers last month.

The 36-year-old made her return to the iconic arena for Game 4 of the NBA Finals alongside friends and fellow singers Alana and Este Haim on Wednesday. She sported a “Stevie Knicks“ t-shirt at Game 4 of the NBA Finals to show her support for the Knicks as they looked to take a 3-1 lead against the San Antonio Spurs.

There have been rumors in recent days that Swift and fiancé Travis Kelce could be renting out Madison Square Garden for their wedding on July 3. They reportedly paid $3 million to rent the arena for three days, and more than 1,000 guests are set to attend.

Meanwhile, the Knicks had a dismal start to Game 4 of the NBA Finals and found themselves 76-49 down at the break. The Spurs started strong, scoring 41 points in the first quarter and 35 in the second. Victor Wembanyama led the way for the Spurs with 16 first-half points.
