July 4 marks the 250th anniversary of the United States of America, and there are various activities and initiatives planned. As part of the celebration, every player competing in the 2026 NBA Finals is wearing a “USA 250” patch on their jersey.
All major sports leagues across the country have joined forces to take part in this initiative to have players sport “USA 250” patches on their uniforms at marquee events.
The 2026 NBA Finals will feature the Knicks and Spurs, and every player from both teams will wear the patch on their jersey. On Monday, Topps revealed that select game-worn patches will later be featured in ultra-rare trading cards.
“Every player in the 2026 NBA Finals will wear a USA 250 patch on their jersey. The patches will be removed after each game, with select game-worn patches later featured inside ultra-rare trading cards,” Topps wrote on X on Monday.
“USA 250” patches were also featured on the uniforms of the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots’ players during Super Bowl LX.

The patches were also worn during WrestleMania 42 and the opening weekend of the MLS season. The patches will also be worn during the Stanley Cup Final, all MLB games on July 4, the MLB All-Star game, and the Home Run Derby.
Also, the White House is set to host the “UFC Freedom 250” on June 14 to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.
The NBA has undertaken several initiatives this season to honor the 250th anniversary of the United States, aiming to use basketball to foster community and bring people together. Players and legends have participated in community events throughout the year to give back and support those in need.
