Novak Djokovic’s Coaching Team at 2026 French Open

On the eve of the French Open, Djokovic announced that he will be coached by compatriot Viktor Troicki. The two players came through the junior ranks together and are also friends off the court. The 40-year-old teamed up with Djokovic to help Serbia win the Davis Cup for the first time.

Troicki enjoyed a glittering playing career, winning 3 ATP Tour titles and reaching a career-high ranking of world No. 12. He also claimed a solitary win over Djokovic at the Umag Open in 2007, but the 24-year-old had the upper hand in their rivalry on court, leading 13-1.

After calling time on his playing career, Troicki became a coach. He started coaching the Serbian Davis Cup team in 2021 and also had spells with the highly rated Hamad Medjedovic and Miomir Kecmanović. Now, he is set for his biggest coaching assignment with one of the greatest men’s players of all time.

“Welcome my friend, teammate and now coach… Viktor Troicki,” Djokovic wrote in a post on Instagram earlier this week.

In addition to Troicki, Boris Bošnjaković and Dušan Vemić remain part of the coaching team for the 24-time Grand Slam champion.

Bošnjaković played collegiate tennis at Brigham Young University in the United States. He turned pro in 1997 but had to retire three years later due to injuries. Since retirement, he has worked with several talented players and also coached the Serbian Davis Cup team.

He also had some short spells assisting with Djokovic’s coaching before officially joining his team in late 2023.

Djokovic has enjoyed plenty of success under Bošnjaković’s coaching, finally winning the men’s singles gold medal at the Paris Olympics in 2024.

Vemić also hails from Serbia and enjoyed a 15-year playing career before becoming a coach. He was part of Djokovic’s coaching team in the early 2010s before going on to coach other players. He returned to his compatriot and former doubles partner’s coaching team last year during the clay-court swing.

Meanwhile, Djokovic will have his work cut out for him as he looks to win his first Grand Slam title since the 2024 US Open. The 39-year-old has a daunting run to the French Open final. However, after overcoming the odds at the Australian Open, he will have belief in his chances of making yet another deep run at Roland Garros.
