LeBron James has been in the NBA for 23 seasons now. Throughout his career, he’s always been at the top of the basketball world. Formerly dubbed the “Chosen One,” James came into the league as the top prospect of his draft class back in 2003. Since then, James never looked back and immediately made his way into stardom.
As the years went by, fans and critics couldn’t deny his talents and eventually called him the “King.” This was because his game was superior to many of the players he went up against during his younger years in the league.
It appears that James has made a significant change to his autograph, which is a tribute to his historic career.

LeBron James Adds a Royal Touch to His New Autograph
After a storied 23 seasons in the NBA, James is known by a few significant aliases: “GOAT,” “LeGOAT,” and “Captain LeMerica.” But one nickname known by many is either “King” or “King James.”
While James technically was given the nickname back in his high school playing years, the NBA used the alias more heavily a few years after his rookie season. For context, he was initially called the “King” in his freshman year because of how he carried St. Vincent-St. Mary to a state championship.
Since then, James’ nickname eventually evolved into one of the most iconic celebrations in the NBA. In the latter part of James’ career, he added a new celebration to his collection, crowning himself after knocking down key shots in a game.
Other variations of the celebration also include his teammates crowning him while James bows his head.
Given the significance of his alias in his career, James has recently switched up his autograph and added a royal touch to it. James has added a crown to his new signature.

While James’ new autograph is fitting to his career, many fans on social media have mixed feelings about it. Some found it appropriate, while others dislike the fact that he needs to claim himself to be a king rather than letting other people acknowledge his status.
Whatever the case may be, there’s no denying James’ greatness in the NBA. He currently holds the record for the most points in league history. He has also notched four NBA championships, four NBA Finals MVPs, four NBA MVPs, and 22 All-Star selections, the most by any NBA player in history.
