Warriors’ Stephen Curry Wishes He Had Ayesha Curry’s Instinct to ‘Put Herself Out There’

Stephen Curry admits he lacks Ayesha Curry’s daily fire and explains how her vulnerability motivates him on difficult days.

Stephen Curry, after 17 NBA seasons, has built a career few can match. But away from the million lights of the Chase Center, he finds the greatest inspiration in his wife, Ayesha Curry. The 4-time NBA champion talked about Ayesha’s passion and vulnerability that keep him grounded and motivated, and how her fire to be herself in every situation is the driving force behind their family.

As they approach their 15th anniversary in July, the two-time MVP reflected on lessons learned from his marriage, noting how his partnership with Ayesha has evolved through triumphs and challenges both professionally and personally.

Stephen Curry Calls Ayesha Curry His Daily Source of Ambition and Fire

Stephen Curry and Ayesha Curry appeared on the latest episode of the IMO podcast with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson. Talking about having a highly demanding professional career while juggling personal life, Stephen Curry highlighted how Ayesha Curry pushes him to do better on days when things feel down, and nothing goes as planned.

“I’ve learned from Ayesha what true ambition and passion really looks like on a daily basis. And that’s not just career-wise, that’s for your family. She lives everyday with her full self, and I know it’s scary and vulnerable at times because you want to kind of protect yourself, and she puts herself out there,” said Curry.

He added, “I’m a little bit more reserved in that respect. And that fire, like I wish I had more of it. I can get there on the court and, like, have those moments, but on a daily basis, I’m a little bit more kind of even-keeled, and I wish had that instinct. Like just, she has it on a daily basis, and it motivates me just on when things can get a little drag or things aren’t really going your way or there’s not really a clear path to get what you want. Like that fire and that passion is a big deal. I definitely have learned a little bit from the way that she shows up in that way.”

Curry’s comment offers an insight into the kind of relationship the couple shares, as well as the appreciation and respect they have for each other. He appreciated Ayesha’s “instinct” for putting herself out there, which also serves as a blueprint for his own growth.

Ayesha Curry emphasized how Steph gave her a balance and the ability to remain steady, which seems crucial after she faced a wave of online trolling following her late 2025 appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast. Throughout the chaos, the couple stood together and emerged stronger than ever.

Stephen and Ayesha Curry’s $290 Million Power Partnership

Stephen Curry and Ayesha Curry have built more than just a family. They have amassed a staggering combined net worth of $290 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Through synergy and partnership, they have become one of the most powerful couples not just in the NBA but worldwide.

While Steph made history in 2024 by signing a 1-year, $62.6 million extension, becoming the first player in NBA history to cross the $60 million mark in a single season, Ayesha has also evolved from a YouTube creator into a multi-millionaire mogul. Through her Sweet July brand, the International Smoke restaurant chain, and other business ventures, she has constructed an empire that rivals the biggest names in the industry.

Though Stephen Curry has been sidelined with an injury since January 30, his progress has been marked as “good.” With less than 10 games left, the Warriors are currently the 10th-seeded team in the West at 35-38 and are ready to make it to the Play-In tournament. Steve Kerr, before Monday’s game, hinted that Curry is expected to join the team for the Play-In, given that he’s healthy.
