Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns got off to a strong start against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first quarter, but they could not build on it to win the contest.
The guard’s 34-point performance was not enough for the Suns, as they fell 116-104 at the Target Center, marking their third consecutive loss.

Devin Booker Offers Advice to Phoenix Suns Teammates Amid Three-Game Losing Streak
Speaking to the media in the aftermath of the loss, Booker was candid about what the Suns needed to do to keep their playoff hopes alive.
“We’ve just got to learn how to win together,” Booker said. “Still a first-year group that’s dealt with injuries and not much time to go through these stretches earlier in the season together and figure out what works.”

The All-Star guard also added an optimistic message. “We have the best job in the world. You gotta embrace this, embrace adversity. That’s what it’s all about,” Booker said. “So you train all summer, you wait all year for these moments right here. So win, lose, or draw, I’m 100% committed to the grind. And we all are.”
Booker ended his evening with a team-high 34 points, coupled with seven rebounds and one assist. Center Oso Ighodaro tallied 16 points, while guard Collin Gillespie chipped in with 12 points.

The Timberwolves, despite missing Anthony Edwards, were led by forward Julius Randle with 32 points and seven rebounds. Bones Hyland scored 22 points off the bench, while Ayo Dosunmu and Jaden McDaniels had 19 and 16 points, respectively.
The Suns were one of the pleasant surprises in the Western Conference this season, getting off to a hot start. Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal’s moves to different teams suggested the team was entering a rebuild. However, a string of shrewd moves, including the acquisitions of Dillon Brooks and Jalen Green, saw a young Suns team start impressively.

The loss further dents the Suns’ chances of a better playoff seeding. The Suns are 39-30 and sit seventh in the West. The Suns trail the Timberwolves, who are a rung above with 42 wins.
The Suns will hope to end their three-game losing streak when they play the San Antonio Spurs on the road on Thursday. They later play four home games and hope to get back to winning ways. The Suns are play-in contenders but will need the winning momentum to make a desperate playoff push.
