Saints DE Cameron Jordan Prioritizes Money in Next NFL Move

Set to be 37 when the 2026 season starts, it might be a stretch to say that Jordan has two more years left in the pros. His elite pass-rushing talent has served him well across his 15 years in the NFL (88.6 PFSN EDGE Impact in 2019), and he’s looking for what should be his final paycheck in the league. As such, he’s aiming to secure the biggest bag possible before heading into retirement.

Appearing on Terron Armstead’s “The Set,” Jordan mentioned how he’ll be loyal to the highest bidder this offseason, despite having spent a decade-and-a-half with the Saints.

“You see, guys my age re-sign with a team because that’s the only team they’ve ever been with, and you’re like, ‘Hell yeah, we love that,’ but that’s to his situation,” Jordan said, via Pro Football Talk. “That may not be to my situation. As football players, we can only control what we can control.”

The defensive end is one of the most resilient players in NFL history, having played in every single one of the Saints’ last 254 season games, including the playoffs — starting in all but two of the matchups.

“As much as I be like, ‘Hell yeah, I want them to love me as much as I love them,’ sometimes the business side of that makes you feel emotional,” Jordan added.

“You gotta be able to take your emotions out of it. Of course, I’d love to be in New Orleans. At the same time, if the cents don’t make sense, we gotta find our own path. I know what I want to do, what I want to accomplish. If that doesn’t line up, then that’s fine as well.”

In his 15-year career, the eight-time Pro Bowler totaled 132.0 sacks, 17 forced fumbles, and 763 tackles. He’s also not short on accolades; in addition to his eight Pro Bowls, he’s an All-Pro and part of the 2010s All-Decade Team.

Defensive linemen usually don’t last as long as Jordan in the NFL, as illustrated by other superstars like LA Rams legend Aaron Donald, who retired at 32. It’ll be interesting to see how much longer the Saints icon lasts.
