Stephen Curry’s Wholesome Video In Reggie Miller’s Jersey Resurfaces On Warriors Star’s Birthday

Stephen Curry's 38th birthday featured a video of him as a kid in Reggie Miller's jersey, showing how a fan became the three-point GOAT.

Stephen Curry turned 38 today. Before becoming a four-time NBA champion, the Warriors’ superstar was just a kid rocking an oversized Reggie Miller No. 31 jersey, executing behind-the-back passes, nasty between-the-leg dribbles, and slick crossovers, all at just 8 years old.

But nobody would have foreseen how this kid would dominate the three-point line with the same smiley face, earning himself the title of baby-faced assassin and surpassing the very players’ three-point totals whom he idolized.

Stephen Curry’s 38th Birthday Celebration Features Nostalgic Reggie Miller Jersey

On March 14, 2026, the NBA shared nostalgic footage on its social media to celebrate the offensive tornado’s birthday, showing a young Curry playing basketball while wearing the jersey of his childhood idol and former three-point leader, Reggie Miller.

Growing up as the son of Dell Curry, Stephen followed Miller as a primary inspiration for his movement and shooting mechanics, and this video serves as a reminder of how Curry went from looking up to legends like Reggie Miller to becoming one himself.

During his appearance on “Hot Ones,” Curry was asked by Sean Evans who he looked up to as a kid and who he modeled his game after. He replied, “The model was Steve Nash and Reggie Miller.”

He added, “Reggie, because he was a master at creating space without the ball. Find a way to get separation to go out and get a pass and quick release. I never could emulate his form because he does it like this when he shoots. You never teach that. But the movement without the ball. So I try to blend those two guys together.”

Curry Continues to Shatter Three-Point Records

In January 2021, Curry surpassed Miller’s career total of 2,560 three-pointers to move into second place on the all-time list. Later that year, in December 2021, Curry broke Ray Allen’s record of 2,973 to become the all-time leader in three-pointers made. Since achieving that milestone, Curry has pushed the record into another stratosphere by 2026.

As he celebrates his 38th birthday, Curry remains the clear leader in perimeter scoring with the most career three-pointers (4,233) and is the only player to surpass 4,000 threes.

In the 2025-26 season, Curry has played in only 39 games so far and averaged 27.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 39.1% from deep and 46.8% from the field. He has made 175 three-pointers in this campaign and earned his 12th All-Star selection.

On March 8, 2025, in a 115-110 victory over the Detroit Pistons, Curry joined the 25,000-point club, becoming the 26th NBA player to reach the milestone.

Without Curry, who is currently recovering from a persistent right knee injury that has sidelined him for over 20 games this season, the Warriors are facing a grueling stretch. Despite being ninth in the competitive Western Conference with a 32-34 record, the team remains optimistic about a deep playoff run once its centerpiece returns, projected for late March.
