The NBA world wasted no time dissecting a viral sideline moment involving Stephen Curry and Draymond Green during the Golden State Warriors’ 129-101 blowout loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night.
With Curry sidelined and emotions running high, a short clip from a timeout quickly spiraled across social media, with many believing that they saw something telling in Curry’s body language.

Social Media Erupts Over Stephen Curry “Eyeing” Draymond Green
The clip, originally captured by a fan in attendance at Chase Center, shows Green vigorously addressing teammates during a timeout while Curry stands nearby in street clothes. Curry nods along as Green gestures and yells, but many online felt his expression told a different story.
Full Court Pass shares the clip of the viral moment, writing, “Steph Curry watching Draymond Green during a Warriors timeout,” adding the now-viral wide-eyed emoji that fueled speculation.
Sports influencer Ahmed/The Ears was more direct, writing, “Steph is TIRED bro,” echoing a sentiment that spread rapidly throughout NBA Twitter.
Brick Center writes chimed in with: “Steph Curry is SICK of Draymond,” followed by a laughing emoji.
Another popular NBA meme and fan account, Lake Show Yo writes, “Steph Curry HATES Draymond.”
And then, Hater Report went even further, claiming Curry “can’t wait for them to finally get Draymond off the team lmaooo.”
While there is no public indication of tension between the longtime teammates, who have won four championships together, fans clearly projected frustration onto Curry in the moment. And given the circumstances surrounding the Warriors’ season, it’s easy to understand why emotions are heightened.
Injury Absence, Blowout Loss, and Growing Frustration of the Warriors
Curry missed his 10th consecutive game due to a runner’s knee injury, and his absence was glaring in the 28-point loss. The Warriors’ offense stagnated repeatedly, committing careless turnovers and struggling to generate consistent scoring opportunities.
Green finished with 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists on 3-of-8 shooting. He went just 1-of-5 from three-point range and posted a team-low minus-30 in plus/minus, numbers that only intensified criticism.
The team dropped to 31-29 following the loss and is now 4-6 in its last 10 games. The split with and without Curry is telling. Golden State is 23-16 when he plays and just 8-13 when he sits.
During the game, Curry spoke with ESPN’s Mallika Andrews about his recovery.
“I’m feeling better,” Curry said. “This is a weird one. It’s kind of unpredictable how it will heal, but every day since All-Star Weekend, it’s been progressing. That’s all I can ask for. Hopefully I’ll be back out there soon.”
He added that once he returns, it may come down to pain tolerance but emphasized the importance of not letting the issue linger and worsen.
Head coach Steve Kerr has previously noted that Green’s offensive role shifts significantly without Curry on the floor. When paired together, their two-man actions remain highly effective. Without Curry, defenses sag off Green and clog driving lanes, limiting his impact as a scorer.
Golden State will face the Clippers on Monday night, and whether Curry returns soon or not, bigger questions loom. If the Warriors continue to struggle even after their superstar is back, fans may revisit that viral timeout moment — and wonder if the frustration runs deeper than one sideline exchange.
