Kevin Durant has never been one to shy away from a fight when it presents itself. Whether it’s with his opponents or with his own teammates, Durant will stand his ground when challenged. Such an occurrence happened when he and Tyler Herro got into it during the Houston Rockets’ game against the Miami Heat.

In a clip aggregated by Hoop Central, Durant and Herro got into a war of words during the Rockets-Heat matinee. Herro clearly struck a nerve with Durant, as the former MVP was walking away before turning back when it seemed Durant had something to say.

The X account Fullcourtpass believes Herro screamed, “You a (expletive)!” at Durant as they were going at it. Radio personality Brendan Tobin captured the entire confrontation between the two before they both got separate technicals.

At first, no one knew exactly what spurred this altercation, but the X account SM Highlights revealed a trash-talk conversation between the two before things escalated.
Kevin Durant got heated with Tyler Herro:

Herro: “Let’s go”

The NBA world had some pretty funny reactions to both Herro and Durant. The Sports Blog “Dead Serious” wrote, “I know Kevin Durant cannot wait to get back to his incel group chats to call Tyler Herro names behind his back.”
This is in reference to Durant’s alleged burner accounts on X, where he badmouthed his own teammates to random fans.
The popular Rockets fan account “SleeperRockets” mocked Herro, writing, “Kevin Durant confronts Tyler Herro and Herro immediately backs up. He must be having flashbacks to last season when Amen put him in his place.”
This is in reference to the year before Durant got there, when Herro got into a fight with Amen Thompson. Maybe Herro has something against the Rockets organization as a whole.
The real question is whether this beef will end today or continue. Anything can happen, as we’ve seen NBA players who hated each other’s guts for years bury the hatchet, become teammates, and make up, like Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo.
Herro and Durant aren’t there, but there’s no telling if this is a one-off or the start of something brewing. It’s clear Herro isn’t making friends with any of the Rockets players.
