Skip Bayless Doubles Down on Labeling Draymond Green as ‘Dirtiest Player In NBA’

Analyst Skip Bayless reaffirms his claim that Draymond Green is the dirtiest player in NBA history during a podcast face-off.

Very few NBA analysts are as direct as Skip Bayless. The longtime commentator has built a career on bold takes and sharp criticism, often going after the biggest names in the league. LeBron James has frequently been his target over the years, with Bayless once calling him a ring chaser and the biggest flopper in the NBA. This time, however, it was Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green in the spotlight.

Skip Bayless Takes a Dig at Draymond Green’s Playing Style

Bayless appeared as a guest on the latest episode of “The Draymond Green Show,” where the two covered several NBA topics, including remarks the analyst had previously made about the star forward. Green then prompted Bayless to read one of his past comments aloud, which stated:

“Draymond is not angry, just crazy, and by far the dirtiest player in NBA history.”

He then asked the veteran NBA analyst whether he stands by it. The segment, called “Take Two,” invited the veteran analyst to reaffirm his previous comments. Bayless did exactly that.

“I double down,” Bayless said. “You battle so tenaciously that you push it right to the edge, and then every once in a while, you go completely over the edge trying to get an edge. You have a repertoire of little cheap shots that back in the day, in the 70s and 80s, would have all been considered dirty.”

It was a strong statement, especially with Green sitting across from him. But the label did not come out of nowhere. The Warriors forward has been involved in several controversial moments throughout his 14-year career. In the 2023 playoffs, he was ejected and later suspended after stepping on Domantas Sabonis during a game against the Sacramento Kings.

In Game 3 of the 2016 Western Conference finals, he was assessed a Flagrant 1 and fined for kicking Steven Adams in the groin. Likewise, in Game 1 of the 2018 Western Conference finals against the Houston Rockets, he received a technical foul for making contact with James Harden’s throat.

In 2023, he was handed an indefinite suspension for striking Jusuf Nurkić in the head. His infamous swing that struck LeBron James in Game 4 of the 2016 NBA Finals led to a suspension that became a turning point in the series.

Over the years, Green has reportedly accumulated north of $1 million in league fines. In May 2025 alone, he was fined $50,000 for publicly criticizing NBA officials. He averages 2.9 personal fouls per game for his career, a number that reflects his physical and emotional style of play.

Still, Green’s résumé speaks loudly. He is a four-time NBA champion and has earned four All-Defensive First Team selections. His intensity has been a key part of Golden State’s success.
