Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray has likely fielded countless questions from reporters during his nine-year NBA career. Reporters covering the NBA All-Star Game round-robin tournament at the Intuit Dome on Sunday in Inglewood, Calif., caught up with Murray after he played for Team World.
Murray, however, was caught off guard by one reporter’s question.
NBA Reporter’s Question Leaves Nuggets Star Jamal Murray Hilariously Baffled
As Murray was leaving the court, the Nuggets’ social media admin asked him about his athleticism.
“If you were more athletic…” the reporter asked.
Murray, a native of Canada, responded inquisitively to the question. “What?” Murray said. After giggling, he added, “What kind of question is that? I don’t even wanna hear it.” Turning to someone in the background, Murray said, “Are you laughing at this? You’re crazy.”
“She didn’t even finish the question,” Murray continued. “She didn’t even finish the question. She said, ‘If you were more athletic.’ She said ‘If you were more athletic’ and just held the camera to my face.”
“If you were more athletic…”

Murray helped the Nuggets win the 2022-23 NBA championship. This season, Murray, a first-round draft pick (No. 7 overall) out of Kentucky, is averaging 25.7 points per game. He is also averaging 4.4 rebounds and 7.6 assists.
He earned his first All-Star nod this season while guiding the Nuggets through a wave of injuries that sidelined Nikola Jokić, Aaron Gordon, Christian Braun, Cameron Johnson, Jonas Valanciunas, and Peyton Watson, among others.
Murray is shooting 48.5% from the field and 42.5% from 3-point range. He averages 35.6 minutes per game during the 2025-26 NBA season. With Murray on the court alongside Jokić, the Nuggets boast a strong offensive pairing.
As the regular season resumes, Denver is in third place in the NBA’s Western Conference with a 35-20 record. The Nuggets trail the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs in the standings. The Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, and Minnesota Timberwolves round out the top six teams in the West.
In the Northwest Division, the Nuggets are 6.5 games behind the Thunder. While Murray likely returned to Denver after the All-Star Game round-robin tournament, the Nuggets will head back to the Intuit Dome on Thursday night to face the Los Angeles Clippers as they continue their push for the NBA playoffs.
