After months of anticipation, the 2026 NBA All-Star Game has finally come. Throughout the season, many have been excited to see some new stars emerge in this year’s event while still seeing the veteran stars.
While the All-Star weekend is typically a fun occasion, some prominent NBA analysts weren’t too pleased with certain parts of the event. To be specific, the NBA world heavily criticized basketball legend Reggie Miller.
NBA World Criticizes Reggie Miller’s Work on Commentary
For several years now, Miller has served as the main color commentator for the All-Star weekend. However, this time around, many don’t believe that he did a good job. Analysts went on social media to share their thoughts on the legendary sharpshooter.
In the world of sports, commentary is an important aspect. Usually, commentators add more flavor to the games as they share their insights or express their emotions, depending on what type of play unfolds.
In the case of NBA legend Miller, not everyone was pleased with his performance as this year’s All-Star weekend commentator.
NBA analysts went on X to share their thoughts on Miller. Some called him out for simply talking about random topics on air, while others didn’t appreciate how he barely had anything to say about the ongoing All-Star game.
Bill Simmons of The Ringer wrote on X, “Can NBC please tell Reggie to stop telling us how hard everyone is playing? Or just cut off his mic? I’d settle for either option.”

PFSN’s Alex Kennedy commented: “Last night, he just kept saying ‘BREATHE, BREATHE’ whenever someone missed a dunk.”

Tommy Beer of Substack didn’t mince his words as he wrote: “Reggie full of s**t .” Tucker from YouTube’s Sporting Logically noted: “This is a great NBA all-star game so far, except for: 1. It took me a full two minutes to explain the format to my wife 2. Reggie”

Andrew Marchand of The Athletic carefully analyzed and said, “I was thinking earlier, Reggie’s enthusiasm is good, but he could chill a little.”

Even non-NBA analyst Ryan Maue of the Weather Trader had something to say about Miller’s performance on commentary: “NBA All-Star game format, much better product on the floor. But the NBC broadcast can’t overcome Reggie Miller. He’s not paying attention to the game and rambling about nonsense.”

Given the backlash Miller is facing, we wouldn’t be surprised if the NBA legend ends up reacting to all the comments.
