Dallas Mavericks Star Klay Thompson Shares Heartfelt Reaction To Chris Paul News

Klay Thompson commented on Chris Paul's Instagram post. The future Hall of Famer announced his retirement on Friday.

Chris Paul will go down among the best 35 players in NBA history.

The future Hall of Famer was traded (via the LA Clippers) to the Toronto Raptors earlier this month.

However, the Raptors have now waived Paul.

Klay Thompson Shares Heartfelt Reaction To Chris Paul News

Following the news of Paul being waived, he announced (via Instagram) that he is retiring from basketball.

Many people around the NBA world reacted to the news.

One person who left a comment was Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson.

The two were teammates on the Golden State Warriors (2023-24).

Thompson wrote: “Point god ! It was a pleasure being your teammate. Congrats on a legendary run my man !”

Paul had only been averaging 2.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per contest while shooting 32.1% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range in limited playing time for the Clippers this year.

He has also spent time with the New Orleans Hornets, Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns, San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder over part of 21 seasons.

Paul had incredible career averages of 16.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 9.2 assists and 2.0 steals per contest while shooting 46.9% from the field and 37.0% from three-point range in 1,370 games.

He made the 2021 NBA Finals (and appeared in 149 playoff games).

As for Thompson, he spent the first 13 years of his career with the Warriors.

The future Hall of Famer has been with Dallas for two seasons.

He is currently averaging 11.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest while shooting 38.8% from the field and 37.5% from three-point range in 49 games.
