Devin Booker is heading back to the NBA’s 3-Point Contest for the first time since 2020. The 29-year-old Michigan native is officially part of the 2026 State Farm 3-Point Contest at NBA All-Star Weekend.
The league announced the eight-man field on Feb. 8, confirming Booker will compete on Saturday, Feb. 14, at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif. The contest opens NBA All-Star Saturday at 5 p.m. ET. But the Phoenix Suns guard admitted he did not expect the call.

Devin Booker Surprised Over His NBA All-Star 3-Point Contest 2026 Selection
The four-time All-Star admitted his selection caught him off guard.
“I was surprised. There was years when I wasn’t an All-Star that I used to try to beg to be in the three-point contest. But I feel like they want names, they want people that are actually playing in the game. So, going for the upset.”
His reaction stands out because of his numbers this season. Booker is shooting a career-low 31.5% from three-point range. That mark is the lowest among all eight participants in this year’s contest.
For comparison, the highest 3-point percentage of his career is 38.3%, which he posted during both the 2017-18 and 2021-22 seasons. His shooting dip makes his inclusion notable, especially in a competition built strictly on perimeter accuracy.
Still, Booker’s résumé in this event is strong. He won the 3-point contest in 2018. That year, he set a then-record score of 28 points in the final round to secure the victory, outdoing Klay Thompson, who had 25 points, and Tobias Harris, who finished with 17. Booker has also participated in 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2020.
This will mark his fifth All-Star Game appearance. He last played in the NBA All-Star Game in 2024.
The 2026 contest field also includes Damian Lillard (Trail Blazers), Kon Knueppel (Hornets), Tyrese Maxey (76ers), Jamal Murray (Nuggets), Donovan Mitchell (Cavaliers), Bobby Portis Jr. (Bucks), and Norman Powell (Heat).
Lillard’s participation is another headline. He is out for the 2025-26 season but will still compete in the 3-point contest during All-Star Weekend.
Despite his current percentage, Booker remains one of the most accomplished shooters in franchise history. He is the Suns’ all-time leader in three-point field goals with 1,495. He is also one of only two players, along with Klay Thompson, to make at least 99 three-pointers in each of his first 10 career seasons.
Booker will also become the first Suns player to compete in the contest since 2020.
His numbers this season suggest he enters as an underdog. His past success in the event suggests he cannot be overlooked. The stage is set for All-Star Saturday in Inglewood, where Booker will try to add another chapter to his 3-point contest history.
