Steve Kerr Makes Feelings Clear About Golden State Warriors Trading For Kristaps Porziņģis
Before Thursday’s game, head coach Steve Kerr spoke about Porziņģis.
Kerr (via ESPN’s Anthony Slater): “He’s an established player. The kind of player we’ve been looking for, for years. Legitimate three-point shooter, rim protector, tough to find that combination in one player.”
Here is Steve Kerr on the Kristaps Porzingis addition. He said Rick Celebrini and the team’s medical staff did their “due diligence” and that they wouldn’t have made trade had they not believed they could keep Porzingis healthy. pic.twitter.com/qasdB35fzd

Porziņģis was the fourth pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
He has spent 11 seasons playing for the New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, Washington Wizards, Dallas Mavericks (and Hawks).
Steve Kerr on trading for Kristaps Porzingis:
“I don’t think we would’ve made the trade if we didn’t think he could be healthy and consistent in terms of being in the lineup … We’ve never really had a player quite like him.”

Right now, the Warriors are the eighth seed in the Western Conference with a 27-24 record in 51 games.
They are in the middle of a two-game losing streak (and 5-5 over their last ten).
Slater also reported: “Kristaps Porzingis will join the Warriors in Los Angeles tomorrow night. Steve Kerr sounded skeptical he’d get medical green light to return vs Lakers on Saturday night but anticipated debut soon.”
