Chris Paul is one of the best point guards in all of NBA history.
That said, he had been having a down season for the LA Clippers before getting sent home in December.
The future Hall of Famer had been averaging 2.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per contest while shooting 32.1% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range in 16 games.
On Wednesday, Paul was traded (via the Clippers) to a new team.

NBA World Reacts To Major Chris Paul News
Via ESPN’s Shams Charania: “The Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors have agreed on a multi-team trade sending Chris Paul to the Raptors and Ochai Agbaji, a 2032 Raptors second-rounder and cash to the Nets, sources tell ESPN.”
However, Charania reports that Paul won’t have to go to Toronto.
Via Charania: “The Raptors will not require Chris Paul to report to the team and could still discuss trades involving him over the next day. Toronto is now out of the tax. Brooklyn picks up an asset and cash to cover Agbaji’s salary. The Clippers clear a roster spot and save $7 million in tax.”

Many people reacted to the news on social media:
Chris Walder: “I’m just sad Chris Paul won’t be here long enough to outscore Goran Dragic as a Raptor.”
Keith Smith: “The Toronto Raptors are now well under the tax. Assumption is that Chris Paul will be waived or bought out. Toronto will have two open roster spots. Nets will have to create a roster spot to bring in Agbaji.”
Josh Lewenberg: “As expected, it costs the Raptors a 2nd-rounder to unload Agbaji’s expiring $6.4M deal, which is more than enough to get them under the tax and give them some flexibility with their 15th roster spot. Don’t expect Chris Paul to report to or suit up for Toronto.”
@WolstatSun: “All-time did not report to Toronto Raptors team: C Alonzo Mourning PF Spencer Dinwiddie SF B.J. Armstrong SG Kenny Anderson PG Chris Paul Small, but combative group.”
Harrison Faigen: “Chris Paul signed up for a farewell tour with the team he had his best years with and they locked him out of the building and then sent him to Canada lol”
