On Sunday night, Golden State Warriors superstar guard Stephen Curry wrote his own story of determination in an emotionally unstable Minnesota. Curry was initially questionable to play in the rescheduled game, which was postponed Saturday in the wake of recent unrest in Minneapolis. However, the 37-year-old not only suited up but also powered his side to a blowout 111-85 win over the Timberwolves despite battling knee issues.
As a consequence of the rescheduling, the Warriors will now play back-to-back games against the Timberwolves on Monday night, and Curry’s presence is vital after losing Jimmy Butler III to a season-ending injury. However, the latest injury report left room for concern for Golden State.

Warriors Get Concerning Update on Stephen Curry Injury
Curry revealed in the post-game press conference on Sunday that during the team’s practice on Saturday, he had flared-up knee issues that had been ongoing since their last loss to the Mavericks. Even during the game, he often looked uncomfortable. However, he was optimistic about his participation in the back-to-back. But, in the league’s latest injury report, Curry has been listed as questionable.
ESPN’s Anthony Slater reported on Monday, “Steph Curry and Draymond Green are both questionable tonight vs the Timberwolves on the second night of a back-to-back. Curry’s issue is now listed as right patellofemoral inflammation. Issue in his right knee popped up a couple days ago.”

The Warriors are in a difficult situation. Apart from Butler, they also lost Jonathan Kuminga for an indefinite period to a bone bruise. De’Anthony Melton and Al Horford are sitting out for injury management. As a result, their offensive load almost entirely falls on Curry. At the same time, they need to avoid putting too much strain on the aging star, as losing him altogether is the last thing the Warriors can afford at this point.
The numbers also show the impact Curry has on this team. Including Sunday, he has now played 37 of the Warriors’ 47 games this season. In those games, the squad is 22-15, and it is 4-6 without the two-time NBA MVP. In fact, despite battling injuries, the four-time NBA champion made history Sunday.
With 26 points, Curry moved into 19th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. He passed John Havlicek and tied Paul Pierce in the process with 26,397 points. Curry is now just 99 points shy of Tim Duncan. This season, Curry is averaging 27.3 points, 5.0 assists, and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 46.8% from the field and 39% from beyond the arc.
Meanwhile, Draymond Green logged 23 minutes against Minnesota while battling back soreness. His struggle was evident as he shot 1-of-5 from the field for 2 points. However, he still made an impact with 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals, finishing with a plus-14 rating. The Warriors are 26-21 and sit eighth in the Western Conference.
