Apart from his unforgettable contributions to the Golden State Warriors’ dynasty, Draymond Green’s off-court activities have often drawn controversy. And though Green remains a valuable NBA veteran, few can forget his physical altercation during training camp with then-teammate Jordan Poole.
And judging by Poole’s reaction in a recent video, the New Orleans Pelicans star hasn’t forgotten yet, either.
Jordan Poole Answers Hilarious Draymond Green-Related Question in Viral Video
Earlier this month, Poole was interacting with some children — probably at a Pelicans event. However, one kid had their own viral moment after asking Poole about being punched by Green.
“How did it feel when Draymond punched you?” the kid asked. “It was tough, bro,” Poole responded while recounting his interaction.
Considering it happened when they were teammates, Green punching Poole before the 2022-23 season caused quite the uproar. Fans immediately picked sides, calling out Green for not being a good role model for the younger players.
Many even attributed the Warriors’ decline in performance to Green, who hasn’t been able to conduct himself on the court.
Green, of course, continued to apologize for losing his temper and choosing to punch a fellow player.
In a 2025 episode of the Pivot podcast, Green looked back on the whole situation, assuming people would have moved on. As per Green, he thought everyone — just like he does — would move on.
“But it taught me so much. Because it taught me, you’re right, he may not be like you. He ain’t from where you’re from. The things you went through, the way you had to come up, he may not have came up like that. So for that five seconds, I forgot where I was at, so I immediately went to what I know. But you know don’t really work here,” Green said.
He admitted that he ‘f–ked’ the whole thing up, revealing that people reminded him of his experience.
Green Previously Seemingly Mocked Poole Over Jose Alvarado-Mark Williams’ Fight
In a previous December game, Pelicans’ Jose Alvarado started a fight with Phoenix Suns’ Mark Williams. The two threw punches during the game and were suspended later on.
Green, discussing the same, seemingly mocked Poole for not helping break them apart and stop the fight.
“If I’m in a fight and my teammate is standing behind and doing this (exaggerated facial expression), come on man,” Green said on his podcast. “We can’t be doing that.”
Green even shared that retired Warriors forward David West always advised them differently, asking people to defend their teammate.
Having said that, Green hasn’t changed since the 2022 incident with Poole. The 35-year-old continues to get into altercations while getting ejected from games, causing fans to reprimand the veteran.
On the flip side, many believe the Warriors don’t work without Draymond Green on defense — especially with Stephen Curry leading the offense.
This season, Green is averaging 8.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.2 assists while shooting 42.6% from the field.
Additionally, the Warriors and Pelicans are set to face each other next on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
