Russell Westbrook was asked about Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson.

Russell Westbrook is one of the best point guards to ever play in the NBA.

The future Hall of Famer is currently in his first year playing for the Sacramento Kings.

At 37, Westbrook has averages of 14.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 42.8% from the field and 35.0% from three-point range in 30 games.

On Tuesday night, the Kings lost to the Detroit Pistons (at home) by a score of 136-127.

Westbrook finished the loss with 27 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals while shooting 9/21 from the field and 4/12 from three-point range in 38 minutes of playing time.

After the game, Westbrook was asked about approaching Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson on the all-time assists list.

Growing up in the inner city, he really put his imprint on the underserved. I think to me, that was the most impactful thing that he has been able to do.”

Westbrook was the fourth pick in the 2008 NBA Draft out of UCLA.

He has also spent time playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Lakers, LA Clippers and Denver Nuggets.

As for Johnson, he spent all 13 seasons of his career playing for the Lakers.

The three-time MVP led the franchise to five titles in his first nine seasons.

His career averages were 19.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 11.2 assists and 1.9 steals per contest while shooting 52.0% from the field in 906 games.
