Anthony Edwards Reveals the Biggest Lesson Stephen Curry Taught Him During Team USA’s Olympic Run

Minnesota Timberwolves star, Anthony Edwards shares the powerful lesson Stephen Curry taught him during Team USA’s Olympic run.

Anthony Edwards learned something significant while playing with Team USA, and it came from one of the greatest shooters ever.

During the Paris Olympics, he watched Stephen Curry up close. What he saw was not about tricks or hype. It was about hard work, trust, and staying calm when the lights get bright.

Anthony Edwards Explains What Stephen Curry Taught Him

Edwards has now shared the lesson that changed his outlook, and it shows how stars still learn from other stars every single time they play together again.

Edwards was part of Team USA during the Paris 2024 Olympics, and it was a big moment in his young career. It was his first Olympics, and he came home with a gold medal. He averaged 12.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.3 steals in only 16.3 minutes per game, showing how important he already is on the world stage.

But his biggest win was not the medal. It was the lesson he learned from NBA superstar Curry. During an interview with Shams Charania, Edwards opened up about what really stuck with him.

Charania asked:

“What team USA moments that you remember you’re like man that’s a great lesson for me like ‘I’mma take this back’?”

Edwards answered with honesty and huge respect for Curry.

“Probably Curry. No matter what he always stuck with the work. That’s what like opened my mind to like never go against the work…then he always said don’t worry about it it’s gonna fall. The games that we needed him the most he came through. I think that was super special.”

Edwards explained that Curry never panicked. He trusted his work. Even on nights when shots were not falling early, Curry stayed steady. Then when the team needed him most, he delivered. That mindset impressed Edwards in a big way.

Curry’s play in Paris backed that lesson up. He averaged 14.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists. He hit 22 three-pointers in the tournament and shot 65.4% from deep in the last two games. When it mattered most, Curry showed what greatness really looks like.

Edwards was the youngest player on a veteran-filled Team USA squad. He was surrounded by legends and champions, and instead of acting like he knew everything, he watched and learned. That is a strong sign for his future.

Now he brings that growth back to the NBA.

The Minnesota Timberwolves received great news ahead of their big matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Dec. 19. According to Marc Stein, Edwards is available and will play after missing three games due to right foot injury maintenance.

That matters because Edwards has been on fire this season. He is averaging 28.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. He is the engine of the Timberwolves offense. His return gives Minnesota a spark in a huge Western Conference battle.

Team USA showed Edwards what greatness looks like up close. Curry showed him that hard work never goes out of style.
