Durant had come into the night with averages of 24.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists per contest while shooting 50.1% from the field and 40.4% from three-point range.
The future Hall of Famer is in his first season playing for the Rockets.

With the loss, the Rockets dropped to 16-8 in 24 games, which has them as the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
They are in the middle of a two-game losing streak (and 8-6 in 14 games on the road).
Following the Pelicans, the Rockets will play their next game on Saturday night when they visit Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in Colorado.
