On Wednesday night, Russell Westbrook added another milestone to his name during an away game against the Houston Rockets. He has surpassed five-time NBA Champion Tim Duncan to achieve the feat.

Russell Westbrook Makes a Historic Achievement in His Illustrious Career
The Sacramento Kings entered their matchup against the Houston Rockets on a three-game losing streak, looking to bounce back and stabilize their season. Veteran guard Westbrook once again played a key role in guiding the team. During his 28 minutes on the floor, he scored 12 points, nine assists, and four rebounds. Despite this effort, the Kings delivered a lackluster performance and fell short, losing the game 95-121.
However, the game will be registered in the history books for Westbrook as he reached a significant milestone in his storied career. At the 7:03 mark of the second quarter, the Kings’ star scored a field goal that officially moved him to 17th on the all-time NBA scoring list, surpassing basketball legend and five-time champion Tim Duncan, 26,496 points.
The Kings immediately acknowledged the moment on social media, calling Westbrook a “living legend” while celebrating his rise among the greatest scorers the league has ever seen. They share a photo of Westbrook on X and caption it, “Living Legend. With his field goal at the 7:03 mark of Q2 tonight at HOU, Russell Westbrook passed Tim Duncan (26,496) for 17th on the NBA’s all-time scoring leaders list.”
This was not the only significant milestone he achieved this season. Last month, on November 14, Westbrook achieved 10,000 career assists in a 124-110 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, joining LeBron James as the only players in NBA history to reach 25,000 career points and 10,000 career assists.
Westbrook now sets his sights on the above names, aiming for a spot on the scoring list. If he maintains his current pace, he is projected to surpass at least one more all-time great before the season concludes.
Westbrook has continued to deliver steady numbers in his first season with the Kings. He is averaging 13.5 points, seven rebounds, and 6.9 assists while offering a stabilizing presence. Even in Wednesday’s loss to the Rockets, Westbrook was a bright spot, showing once again that his impact extends beyond scoring.
Now in his 18th NBA season, Westbrook has assumed a leadership-heavy role in Sacramento, helping to anchor the second unit while providing experience, energy, and consistent playmaking. Next, the Kings will take on the Miami Heat this Saturday in an away match.
