Chris Paul’s Antics Left Clippers Teammates, Staff ‘Fed Up’ Before Shocking Exit: Insider

Reports reveal the reasons behind the Clippers’ decision to abruptly part ways with veteran guard Chris Paul.

Chris Paul was sent home by the Los Angeles Clippers in a surprising development during what was expected to be a retirement tour for the veteran guard.

According to reports, several factors contributed to the organization’s decision, including issues related to Paul’s behavior during his previous tenure with the team.

Clippers Organization Found Chris Paul Difficult to Work With

The Clippers shockingly let go of Paul on Wednesday, a move that nobody saw coming. While many fans sympathize with the veteran guard, tensions appear to have been building within the organization.

According to a report by Greg Beacham of the LA Times, Clippers president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank reportedly struggled to work with Paul, citing issues not only with teammates but also with members of the front office and coaching staff.

Additional reports indicated that Paul held the organization accountable for its struggles this season. The Clippers currently rank 14th in the Western Conference with a 5-16 record.

“Paul called out fellow Clippers players, coaches, and president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank during his current stint with the team,” Beacham reported. “The person added that Paul apologized, but ‘everyone was fed up.'”

After the Clippers let go of Paul, Frank clarified the other factors behind the decision to part ways with him.

“This decision had nothing to do with one incident or one meeting that did or did not happen,” Frank said. “Some of our business, respectfully, have to keep in-house, but this didn’t come down to just one incident and one meeting.”

“It just wasn’t the right fit,” Frank continued. “We had conversations with Chris throughout, even before we started — call it the onboarding process — and throughout. So this isn’t like an isolated one-conversation decision. No, these are fluid throughout.”

In a statement, Frank said the organization would work with Paul on the next step of his career despite his departure from the team. Frank also acknowledged responsibility for the Clippers’ underperformance this season, emphasizing that Paul was not to blame.

Paul rejoined the Clippers this season nearly a decade after concluding his first stint with the franchise, a run that brought the organization into the spotlight during the “Lob City” era alongside Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.
