‘It’s All BS’ — Bucks’ Kyle Kuzma Makes Feelings Clear on FBI’s Hypocrisy Amid NBA Gambling Investigation

With the FBI's investigation of gambling still ongoing, Kyle Kuzma expressed his views on the FBI and the bureau's priorities.

Since joining the NBA in 2017, many have formed their own opinions about Kyle Kuzma. The Milwaukee Bucks wing has undoubtedly been a hot topic among NBA fans, which is unique for someone who’s not a star. However, no matter what negative narrative may come out, he has stayed out of trouble.

Which brings us to the NBA’s ongoing gambling scandal. As of now, Kuzma has not been involved in the FBI’s investigation, but that hasn’t stopped him from expressing his views on the situation.

What Did Kyle Kuzma Say About the Gambling Scandal?

Kuzma shared his views on the matter via his Instagram story, posting the following in two separate messages. “Somehow the FBI is all over sports betting but let insider trading in the markets run FREEEEEE,” Kuzma wrote, which was aggregated by Complex Sports. “It’s all BS!”

For those living under a rock, insider trading is the practice employed by some individuals within the NBA and its teams, utilizing information not available to the public to gain an edge in sports betting and fantasy sports. It could be start/sit information before a game, early injury reports, or any other information that reaches the public late.

That’s certainly a take by Kuzma, as it is a practice that the FBI has been tasked with cracking down on. However, the extent of its success is not yet apparent.

The NBA has had multiple prominent figures, such as Chauncey Billups and Terry Rozier, who are now under investigation for their alleged involvement in gambling on games. The FBI wouldn’t have made those arrests unless they had substantial evidence, which is likely to come to light in the near future.

Not to mention, this investigation emerged shortly after the Jontay Porter scandal, which resulted in his ban from the league. It’s clear that since the NBA has embraced gambling, it has opened the door for players to bend the rules a little, and look what has happened. There’s no telling if this is only the beginning.

Returning to Kuzma, it’s understandable if he had a rapport with Billups, Rozier, or other NBA players who might be investigated down the line. He clearly believes the FBI has bigger fish to fry and that they simply aren’t.

Both the notion that the FBI’s investigation of the NBA is currently significant and the notion that insider trading warrants further investigation are valid. The league could be in deeper vigilance in the future, and many more individuals could enter warm waters.
