Stephen Curry Breaks Silence On Potentially Playing For Team USA At 2028 Olympics

Find out how Stephen Curry responded when asked about representing Team USA at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

Stephen Curry was put on the spot when asked to share his thoughts on representing Team USA in the upcoming 2028 Olympics. Although the Golden State Warriors veteran is steadily approaching the backend of his career, Curry has continued to impact and aid the Warriors with his elite skill set.

Fans had the opportunity to witness Curry share the court with other notable players, such as LeBron James and Kevin Durant, during the 2024 Paris Olympics. In fact, his late-game heroics in the final minutes against Team France were instrumental in helping Team USA win the gold medal.

All of this has fans wondering if Curry will suit up for Team USA and participate in the Olympics again. During a recent episode of James’ podcast, the Warriors leader appeared as a guest and discussed the notion of representing his country once more in 2028.

Stephen Curry Does Not Fully Dismiss Participating in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics

At 37 years old, it remains difficult to project how much longer Stephen Curry will continue performing at an elite level. His game is not heavily reliant on athleticism, which suggests it may age more gracefully. However, his lack of exceptional physical traits could mean he will always face greater challenges scoring compared with more explosive guards.

For now, Curry shows few signs of slowing down. He recently delivered back-to-back standout performances to help lead the Golden State Warriors past the San Antonio Spurs.

Still, it is uncertain whether Curry will be active in 2028 or considered a top candidate to represent Team USA. While LeBron James quickly dismissed the idea of competing three years from now, Curry was more measured in his response, leaving the door open, though acknowledging he is doubtful.

“It is the opposite answer of what I told him (James) last year. It was like, ‘God willing, if I still have the choice and the physical option to be like, yeah, I could actually impact the team.’ Never say never, but I highly doubt it.”

Although Curry admitted that he would love to be involved with Team USA’s 2028 gold medal aspirations, he feels it is nearly impossible for them to top the performance they had in the 2024 Paris Olympics. In any case, Curry’s longevity over the next few seasons will play a massive role in helping him decide on this subject.
