On Wednesday night, the Golden State Warriors will be in Texas to play the San Antonio Spurs.
The Warriors are coming off a 126-102 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder (in Oklahoma).
Steph Curry Opens Up About Health
After the tough loss, Steph Curry (who returned from an illness) made an honest statement about his health.
The two-time MVP finished with just 11 points, one rebound and one steal while shooting 4/13 from the field and 1/5 from three-point range in 20 minutes of playing time.
Curry (via Sam Gordon of The San Francisco Chronicle): “It was alright… Anytime you have a cold type vibe, dealing with that, sitting in bed for two days, it takes a little bit to get back… I felt great physically. Just trying to get your wind back is the biggest deal. I’m happy with where I am now.”
With the loss, the Warriors dropped to 6-6 in 12 games, which has them as the ninth seed in the Western Conference.
They are just 1-6 in seven games on the road.
Via ESPN’s Anthony Slater: “Six straight road losses for the Warriors. They won in LA on opening night and have lost in Portland, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Sacramento, Denver and Oklahoma City since. They’re 6-6. Next five on the road, beginning with two straight in San Antonio.”
Curry is in his 17th NBA season (all with the Warriors).
The future Hall of Famer is averaging 25.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 44.2% from the field and 37.9% from three-point range in nine games.
Via The Lead: “Most seasons by an active guard averaging 16+ PPG on 60%+ true shooting: 12 – Steph Curry 12 – James Harden 6 – Norman Powell 5 – Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 5 – Zach LaVine 4 – Devin Booker 4 – Damian Lillard 4 – Kyrie Irving”
On Friday night, the Warriors and Spurs will play (again) in San Antonio.
