Monday marked another tough night for the Dallas Cowboys. Hoping to get back to .500, the Cowboys fell to 3-5-1 with a 27-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Quarterback Dak Prescott had a decent night, going 24-of-39 for 250 yards with one touchdown and one interception, but the Cowboys never really felt like a threat to win the game and are seeing their playoff hopes slip away.
Despite completing 228-of-329 passes (69.3%) for 2,319 yards with 17 touchdowns through the air, one on the ground, and six interceptions, Prescott has been a target of heavy criticism so far this season (and throughout his career in general).

Draymond Green Calls Dak Prescott a ‘Bum’
Golden State Warriors’ forward Draymond Green was heavily critical of Prescott, referring to him as a “bum.”
“He is getting some numbers, and they stink,” Green said. “Dak’s a bum … They will never win with Dak.”
Green clarified his comments, but it didn’t make things sound much better.
“You have to understand, when I say bum, I’m not saying Dak Prescott isn’t a good NFL quarterback,” Green said. “Of course, he’s a good NFL quarterback. But I’m saying when the money is on the line, when it’s for all the marbles, who are you? He’s a bum.”
Former NFL Player Rips Draymond Green’s Take On Dak Prescott
Former NFL star and current ESPN analyst Marcus Spears took umbrage with Green’s comments.
“He made the point about being a four-time champion and winning championships, and when it’s on the line, Dak doesn’t show up,” Spears said. “You can attest that to Dak Prescott, you can put that in his wheelhouse.”
“It’s a bit rich coming from Draymond Green, who’s played with arguably a top-5 player to ever be in the NBA, to come out and say that like he’s been the catalyst.” – Marcus Spears responds to Draymond Green calling Dak Prescott a bum pic.twitter.com/Q0LcNE9tS8

Prescott is 2-5 in the postseason, with both wins coming in the wild card round.
Spears doesn’t necessarily think that Green’s take was entirely wrong, but he believes Prescott should be treated with more respect.
“It’s just the respect of calling a dude a bum that has played football that has played football at the level in which he’s played,” Spears explained. “If you’re just attributing that to the playoffs, that’s kind of crazy. That’s kind of crazy to say.”
Spears also explained that Green didn’t have to shoulder the load in any of the Warriors’ title runs.
“It’s a bit rich coming from Draymond Green, who’s played with arguably a top-5 player to ever play in the NBA, to come out and say that like he’s been the catalyst,” Spears said.
“He’s been very important, he’s been a big part of what they’ve done championship-wise, not taking that away from him, but Dak Prescott would be the Steph Curry to the team and the way it’s supposed to go.”
Comparing basketball and football in terms of what it takes to win a championship is tough. Yes, quarterback is the most critical position, but if you don’t have the right pieces around you, winning a title is virtually impossible. In basketball, we’ve seen single players carry their teams deep into the postseason.
“Football is completely different when it comes to winning a championship, and it’s not always attributed to the quarterback’s performance,” Spears said.
Although Prescott likely receives way too much of the blame, he is going to continue to hear talk like this until his playoff resume improves.
