LeBron James Caught Watching World Series During Lakers Game in Viral Video

LeBron James was seen watching the Dodgers-Blue Jays World Series game during the Lakers' loss as he recovers from injury.

LeBron James has not taken the court during his record-setting 23rd season yet, but the Los Angeles Lakers’ superstar still found a way to go viral during Monday night’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers. Just not in the way anyone would have expected.

What was LeBron James watching during the Lakers-Trail Blazers game?

The Los Angeles Lakers are 2-2 so far this season, which isn’t exactly discouraging given this team’s poor run of injuries. LeBron James is expected to make his season debut in mid-November as he recovers from right-sided sciatica.

At the same time, Luka Doncic, who was off to a phenomenal start this year, is now out for a week with a finger sprain and lower leg injury. The Lakers will eventually get their two stars back, and both are still finding ways to stay engaged with their teammates while sitting on the bench.

James, however, was caught looking at a fan’s phone during Monday’s clash with the Portland Trail Blazers, and Overtime’s X account suspects it was for an understandable reason.

During the Lakers’ loss to their Western Conference foe, the Los Angeles Dodgers were locked in an epic Game 3 clash with the Toronto Blue Jays that lasted 18 innings and 6 hours and 39 minutes.

The game ended with a walk-off home run by the first baseman Freddie Freeman, giving the Dodgers the 6-5 victory and a 2-1 lead in the series. The Blue Jays ended up tying the series the next night, in what has been one of the most compelling World Series in recent memory.

James has historically been a fan of the New York Yankees, but the legendary small forward has also publicly supported the Dodgers since joining the Lakers. Shohei Ohtani and company are looking to become the first team since 2000 to win back-to-back World Series titles, which, ironically, were won by the Yankees.

Overall, though, whether or not James actually watched this game for a second cannot be confirmed. Either way, though, it’s fair to give the 40-year-old the benefit of the doubt.

James is still remarkably one of the best players in the world and will have to play as such if the Lakers want to contend in the Western Conference. When the all-time great returns to the floor, he will be must-see TV again in a season that could very well be his last.
