Jaylen Brown was featured among the five players in the second season of the Netflix series, Starting 5. While he has made his reputation known primarily because of what he can do on the basketball court, anyone who knows him knows he has off-the-court interests, too.
Brown is one of the vice presidents of the NBPA and has become an outspoken activist since getting a platform in the NBA. He is also interested in combat sports and even challenged a familiar face to a boxing match.

In a clip from Starting 5 aggregated by Netflix Sports’ X account, there was a snippet of Brown mentioning one particular player he could get into a fight with.
“Some good money in boxing. Me vs. Draymond Green or something,” Brown said while laughing.

Brown is an NBA champion, but Green has four times as many, antics and all.
Brown and Green have clashed before. Back when the Boston Celtics faced the Golden State Warriors in the 2022 NBA Finals, Brown and Green got into a brief altercation before the two were separated in a pivotal Game 2. After Green fouled Brown while attempting a three-pointer, the two got a little physical. No technical fouls were called.
Brown’s actions may have been strategic, as Green had a technical foul in the game, and getting a second would have resulted in his ejection. Brown has been renowned for his intelligence so that it would have been a smart move.
Green is considered one of the NBA’s most aggressive players. He has been suspended for essential games or for extended periods because he tends to act a little too aggressively around players. Brown isn’t exactly innocent in this regard, but he has proven to keep his cool much better than Green has.
There’s no telling if Green is trained to fight like Brown is, but it would be quite a spectacle to see two NBA players get into the ring, as professional basketball players are both taller and more muscular than the average human being.
They may not necessarily be as skilled at fighting as professional fighters, but these two going at it would definitely draw viewers. It would also be fun to see Green get a bit of a comeuppance after playing dirty for all these years.
